We are known mostly for designing furniture and lighting, but more recently have been asked by a number of our clients to help them with graphic, web and even interaction design.
We have enjoyed this and found that the creative process and design thinking we applied to creating products, can be successfully applied to other design disciplines too.
Made* was set up by John Walsh in 2006. Since then we have worked with international manufacturers to develop several successful products and along the way have won many high profile international design awards.
John Walsh
John Walsh has designed many successful volume furniture products including several innovative office desking systems for leading European manufacturers.
His products have won several awards and have been chosen by clients such as Steelcase, British Telecom, Microsoft, O2, the BBC, Lloyds TSB, British Airways, Tesco, Lastminute.com, M&C Saatchi, GlaxoSmithKline, as well as by many architects for their own offices.
In 2006, John established Made with the aim of creating range of contemporary furniture and lighting for commercial and domestic interiors.
John’s designs have won various international design awards, and in 2010 he was a judge at the iF Product Design Awards in Hannover.
He has lectured at a number of Universities and is currently sitting on the Council of the Institute of Designers in Ireland as Product/ Industrial Design Representative.
John has a degree in Materials Technology, a Masters in Design and a Certificate in Sustainable Design Innovation.
Peter Mac Cann
While running his own studio in London from 2000-2006 he designed for some of the UK's most recognizable brands including Habitat, Heals and number of other UK and European manufacturers, picking up an award or two along the way.
